Ranbir Kapoor recently revealed why he became extremely worried for his mother Neetu Kapoor while she was shooting for Daadi Ki Shaadi alongside Kapil Sharma in Shimla.
During the film’s promotions, Neetu Kapoor shared that the shooting schedule coincided with the tense India-Pakistan conflict during Operation Sindoor in May 2025. The actress recalled that the atmosphere across the country had become stressful, and Ranbir grew anxious after hearing news reports about the situation.
According to Neetu, Ranbir called her emotionally and said, “Mumma, please come back,” because he was deeply concerned about her safety while she was away filming in Shimla. The actress revealed that her son feared the escalating tensions could become dangerous.
However, Neetu Kapoor tried to calm him down by explaining that Shimla was actually one of the safest places at that moment. She told Ranbir that there was no reason to panic and assured him the cast and crew were completely safe during the shoot.
The actress also spoke about the warm atmosphere on the sets of Daadi Ki Shaadi. Unlike typical Bollywood shoots filled with vanity vans and hotel luxury, the cast reportedly stayed together in nearby cottages, creating a close family-like bond during filming.
Interestingly, the film has become even more special for the Kapoor family because it marks the acting debut of Riddhima Kapoor Sahni at the age of 45. Neetu Kapoor admitted she was initially shocked at the idea of Riddhima entering films, but later fully supported her daughter’s decision.
Ranbir Kapoor has reportedly been very supportive of both his mother and sister throughout the project. He even attended a special screening of the film with wife Alia Bhatt to cheer for his family ahead of the movie’s release.
Meanwhile, fans on social media are discussing the emotional bond between Ranbir and Neetu Kapoor, with many praising the actor for being protective and caring towards his mother during a difficult time.
