Cocktail 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: Shahid Kapoor Kriti anon and Rashmika Mandanna’s Film Beats Original Cocktail’s Opening
The much-awaited romantic drama Cocktail 2 has opened strongly at the box office, giving its cast and makers a reason to celebrate. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, the film has reportedly surpassed the opening-day earnings of the original Cocktail.
According to early estimates, Cocktail 2 collected around ₹13-14 crore net in India and nearly ₹20 crore worldwide on its first day, making it one of the biggest romantic-comedy openings of the year.
Directed by Homi Adajania, the movie is a spiritual successor to the 2012 hit and presents a fresh story built around friendship, love, heartbreak and emotional conflicts.
The film benefited from strong advance bookings, positive pre-release buzz and the popularity of its lead actors. Multiplexes in major cities recorded healthy occupancy throughout the day, while evening and night shows witnessed a noticeable jump in audience turnout.
