Anurag Kashyap Reveals Why He Hasn Married Shubhra Shetty
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has opened up about his relationship with Shubhra Shetty and explained why marriage has not been on their immediate plans. The couple has attracted attention because of their significant age difference and their long-standing relationship.
Why haven’t they married?
Anurag Kashyap explained that Shubhra does not believe in marriage. The filmmaker said he is happy in their relationship and does not want to risk losing the bond they share simply because they have not formalised it through marriage.
For Anurag, being happy together is more important than putting a legal or social label on their relationship.
Anurag on their age difference
The filmmaker also spoke candidly about their roughly 20-year age gap. He admitted that he became somewhat conscious about the difference as he grew older.
According to Anurag, there was a time when he tried to distance himself from Shubhra because he was worried about the attention and scrutiny surrounding their relationship.
However, he eventually realised how important the relationship was to him and chose to remain with her.
Shubhra’s independent journey
Anurag has also spoken about wanting Shubhra to have her own identity and experiences. He encouraged her to build her life independently rather than being defined only by her relationship with him.
