Rs 600 Premiere Tickets for Peddi? Telangana Govt Clears Price Hike, But With a Twist
Ram Charan’s highly anticipated sports-action drama Peddi has received a significant boost ahead of its theatrical release, with the Telangana government reportedly approving a temporary ticket price hike for the film’s premiere shows and initial theatrical run.
Under the revised pricing structure, premiere show tickets can reportedly cost up to Rs 600, while ticket rates for regular screenings in multiplexes and single-screen theatres have also been increased for a limited period. The enhanced pricing is expected to remain in effect for approximately ten days following the film’s release.
The approval comes after earlier uncertainty surrounding the producers’ request for higher ticket rates. Industry discussions and regulatory considerations had delayed the decision, creating concerns about advance bookings in Telangana. With the government’s clearance now in place, exhibitors can proceed with ticket sales under the approved pricing structure.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh had already granted permission for special premiere screenings, an additional daily show, and revised ticket pricing. Telangana’s approval ensures a similar premium-release strategy across both Telugu-speaking states.
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi stars Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. The film is among the biggest Telugu releases of 2026 and has generated strong pre-release buzz, with advance bookings attracting considerable attention from fans both in India and overseas.
