Alpha – Full Details of Alia Bhatt’s YRF Spy Universe Action Thriller
Alpha is a Hindi-language action spy thriller and the first female-led film in the YRF Spy Universe. Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, the film expands the blockbuster spy franchise with a story centered on two elite women agents undertaking one of their most dangerous missions.
The film stars Alia Bhatt in the lead role of Sita, alongside Sharvari as a fellow spy. Bobby Deol plays the primary antagonist, while Anil Kapoor appears as Colonel Vikrant Kaul, the Chief of R&AW. R. Madhavan also plays a key role in the film. In addition, the movie features special appearances by Salman Khan as Tiger, Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan and Hrithik Roshan as Kabir, further connecting Alpha to the larger YRF Spy Universe.
The story follows Sita, an elite operative trained under a mysterious organization called Alpha. After discovering a conspiracy that threatens India’s national security, she joins forces with another skilled agent to stop a ruthless enemy. Their mission takes them across multiple countries, featuring high-octane action, emotional conflicts, espionage and unexpected twists.
Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film is produced by Aditya Chopra. The screenplay is written by Shridhar Raghavan, while the dialogues are penned by Ishita Moitra. The background score is composed by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara, with songs by Aaishvary Thackeray.
The film has been shot across India and several international locations, with large-scale action sequences designed by international stunt teams. The makers have focused on practical action, advanced visual effects and cinematic production values to deliver one of the biggest action spectacles in the YRF Spy Universe.
Alpha released in theatres on 3 July 2026 and has received mixed reviews from critics and audiences.
