New Delhi, Dec 26 (PTI) — Varun Dhawan’s latest action film, Baby John, has made a strong debut at the box office, earning ₹11.25 crore in net collections on its opening day, as per the makers’ announcement on Thursday.

Directed by Kalees, the movie features Dhawan in a dual role as police inspector Satya Verma and his alter ego, John. The Hindi remake of the 2016 Tamil hit Theri, originally directed by Atlee and starring Vijay, was released nationwide on Wednesday.
Presented by Jio Studios in collaboration with Atlee and Cine1 Studios, the film is produced by A for Apple Studios and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios.
According to the producers, Baby John has set a record as the biggest opening day collection for a non-franchise film post-pandemic and also holds the title for the highest opening among remake films released after the pandemic.
