Arjun Sarja’s latest action entertainer Blast has opened to a decent start at the box office on Day 1. According to early trade estimates, the Tamil action drama earned around ₹1 crore net in India on its opening day, with Tamil Nadu emerging as the film’s strongest market.
Directed by Subash K. Raj, the film stars Arjun Sarja alongside Preity Mukhundhan and Abhirami in important roles. The movie follows a martial arts-trained family that becomes trapped in a violent clash against a dangerous gang.
While the morning occupancy remained average, the film witnessed a noticeable jump during evening and night shows. Reports suggest that night occupancy crossed 40% in several major centers, especially Chennai, Coimbatore, and Madurai, indicating positive audience response and improving word-of-mouth.
The film reportedly recorded an overall Day 1 occupancy of nearly 26%, with Chennai leading the occupancy charts. Fans on social media have particularly praised Arjun Sarja’s screen presence, stylish action scenes, and the movie’s mass-entertainer feel.
Trade analysts now expect Blast to perform better over the weekend if the strong night-show momentum continues.
