Gaurav Khanna Reflects on Celebrity MasterChef Win, Says His Journey Mirrors Acting Career
The grand finale of Celebrity MasterChef turned out to be nothing short of spectacular, with Gaurav Khanna emerging as the well-deserved winner. Battling it out with strong contenders like Nikki Tamboli, Tejasswi Prakash, Rajiv Adatia, and Faisal Shaikh, Gaurav clinched the title in the debut season of the show. His winning dish left the judges – Chef Vikas Khanna, Chef Ranveer Brar, and Chef Sanjeev Kapoor – thoroughly impressed, earning him the coveted trophy and a prize of ₹20 lakh.
Currently, the Anupamaa star is riding high on success and is actively participating in Celebrity MasterChef MasterClass, a spin-off series that features candid conversations, recipe sharing, and behind-the-scenes glimpses from the kitchen.
In the premiere episode of MasterClass, Gaurav was joined by fellow finalist Nikki Tamboli as they interacted with past MasterChef contestants. The episode kicked off with a video montage showcasing Gaurav’s emotional and inspiring journey — from having his first dish rejected to winning hearts and eventually lifting the trophy. It was a celebration of perseverance, passion, and grit.
Reflecting on his time in the competition, Gaurav drew parallels between his culinary journey and his acting career. “My MasterChef journey has been quite similar to my career,” he shared. “Just like I faced struggles at the beginning of my acting journey, here too, I had to step out of my comfort zone. It was unfamiliar territory, but I kept pushing myself.” He added humorously that he now finds it hard to stay away from the MasterChef kitchen.
Chef Vikas Khanna, who appeared in the episode alongside Gaurav and Nikki, showered praise on the winner. Sharing his admiration, Vikas said, “I’ve seen many Khannas before me and many will come after, but I’m truly proud of Gaurav.” The celebrity chef and the actor also delighted fans by sharing their signature recipes during the episode, adding flavor to the engaging conversations.
