Drishyam 3 Day 2 Box Office Mohanlal Crime Thriller Stays Rock-Solid, Eyes ₹100 Cr Milestone

Drishyam 3 Box Office Collection Day 2  Mohanlal Thriller Nears ₹80 Crore Worldwide Despite Mixed Reviews

The much-awaited third installment of the Drishyam franchise is performing strongly at the box office, even as audience reactions remain divided. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Drishyam 3 continues the gripping story of Georgekutty and his family, drawing crowds to theatres across India and overseas.

By the end of Day 2, the film has reportedly collected around ₹76–80 crore worldwide. After a record-breaking opening of over ₹43 crore on Day 1, the film saw a natural drop on its second day but still managed to hold well, especially in key markets like Kerala, the Gulf, and North America.

In India, Drishyam 3 earned approximately ₹11 crore on Day 2, taking its total India net collection close to ₹27 crore. The film’s performance remains impressive for a Malayalam release, largely driven by franchise value and Mohanlal’s massive fan base.

However, the response from audiences has been mixed. While many have praised Mohanlal’s powerful performance and the emotional depth of the storyline, some viewers feel the film doesn’t quite match the suspense and tight screenplay of its predecessors. Criticism has mainly been directed at the slower pacing in the first half and a climax that hasn’t fully lived up to expectations.

Despite this, the film is expected to witness growth over the weekend, with trade analysts predicting that it could cross the ₹100 crore mark globally if the momentum continues. Family audiences and loyal fans of the franchise are still turning up in large numbers, which is helping sustain its box office run.

Overall, Drishyam 3 proves that a strong franchise and star power can overcome mixed word-of-mouth, at least in the initial days of release.
