On January 14, 2000, Bollywood witnessed the rise of a star as Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai hit the big screen. Hrithik Roshan, a debutant at the time, became an overnight sensation. Even without social media, the young actor’s performance as both Rohit Kumar, the humble musician, and Raj Chopra, the electrifying rockstar, won hearts everywhere.
The film not only launched Hrithik’s career but also showcased his versatility, making him an instant icon. Songs like Pyaar Ki Kashti Mein and Ek Pal Ka Jeena are still fan favorites, and Hrithik’s moves are etched in Bollywood history.
Fast forward 25 years, the film has re-released in theatres on Hrithik’s 51st birthday, January 10, 2025. Fans are excited to relive the magic, but Hrithik himself feels nervous. Speaking at the trailer launch of The Roshans, a Netflix documentary about his family’s journey, Hrithik shared his concerns:
“I’m worried people will watch it now and wonder, ‘Why did we love this film so much?’”
Hrithik admitted he recently rewatched the film and questioned its appeal. “When I saw it a few months ago, I thought, ‘There’s nothing extraordinary—acting, story—everything feels so average.’ But it was a phenomenon, and I still wonder why.”
He also revealed a funny memory about his sons, Hrehaan and Hridhaan, mocking his guitar skills in the film. The boys, who have a natural talent for music inherited from their great-grandfather Roshan Lal Nagrath, teased him for holding the guitar incorrectly.
Interestingly, Hrithik’s own father, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, once doubted his acting potential. As a shy and quiet person, Hrithik didn’t seem like an actor to him. But Hrithik proved everyone wrong with his exceptional debut and has continued to shine for 25 years.
Looking ahead, Hrithik has an exciting lineup. The Netflix documentary The Roshans releases on January 17, followed by the much-anticipated War 2 in August 2025. He also has a cameo in Alpha this Christmas and is set to begin shooting for Krrish 4 this summer.
As fans celebrate 25 years of Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, Hrithik Roshan remains grateful for his journey and the love he’s received. Here’s wishing him a fantastic year ahead! Also Read :- Hrithik Roshan’s Birthday & Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai Re-release Set for Jan10, 2025
