Netflix has officially unveiled the first look of its upcoming coming-of-age dance comedy Best of the Best, starring Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Priyanka Kedia in the lead roles. The film is set against the vibrant and fiercely competitive world of collegiate Bollywood-fusion dance in the United States, promising a heartwarming blend of friendship, ambition, rivalry, and self-discovery.
Directed by Lena Khan and written by Prashanth Venkataramanujam and Hasan Minhaj, the movie follows childhood best friends Maya (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and Anjali (Priyanka Kedia). As they begin their college journey at UCLA, the duo joins a prestigious Bollywood-fusion dance team with dreams of winning the coveted U.S. Championship. However, the intense competition, personal challenges, and evolving ambitions put their lifelong friendship to the ultimate test.
The newly released first-look images showcase colourful dance performances, energetic choreography, and emotional moments that hint at the film’s central themes of friendship, identity, and perseverance. Netflix describes the film as a celebration of South Asian culture, youth, and the universal journey of finding one’s place in the world.
