The ‘Next On Netflix 2025’ event kicked off with a bang with Saif Ali Khan’s appearance and ended on an even grander note as Shah Rukh Khan made a surprise entry. The superstar arrived to promote his son Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series, The Bads of Bollywood. The announcement video was unveiled, and as soon as SRK stepped on stage, the crowd erupted with cheers, whistles, and applause.
SRK’s Proud Father Moment
Shah Rukh began his speech by expressing gratitude to Netflix and its team. He said,
“It’s been a while since we saw such a huge press turnout. I’d like to thank Netflix for giving me and Aryan this opportunity. I am glad that Aryan’s first project will be on this platform. He and his team—Bilal, Ankit, and Manav—have worked very hard for years on this show.”
Talking about his children’s careers, he added,
“This is like a family show because Netflix is like family. My son is taking his first big step, and my daughter Suhana has stepped into acting. If they even get 50% of the love I have received, it’ll be more than enough.”
Clarifies the Show’s Title
SRK also addressed the unique title of Aryan’s series, saying,
“It’s pronounced as ‘The Bads of Bollywood.’ There’s a reason Aryan named it this way, which you’ll understand once you watch the show. Monika (Netflix India’s head) told me to repeat the correct pronunciation ten times because people might not get it with the asterisk!”
Gauri Khan: The Real Producer
SRK humorously revealed that while he is a producer in name, the actual producer is Gauri Khan.
“Main sirf naam ka producer hoon. My simple funda is that directors, actors, and producers can be on one side, and I am just a bloody star!” he joked, leaving the audience in splits.
Aryan’s Strict Instructions
While SRK was excited to talk about the show, he mentioned that Aryan had strictly warned him not to reveal too much.
“There are many amazing actors in the show, and they signed on out of their love for Aryan. But he has strictly instructed me, ‘Show ke baare mein kuch nahin batana!'”
SRK Passes on His Sense of Humor
The superstar wrapped up his speech with a funny yet heartwarming remark,
“People get offended by my jokes, so I have stopped joking. Instead, I have passed on the art of joking to my son as his inheritance. I told him, ‘Now go and make your father proud!’”
