Tumbbad 2 Alia Bhatt Officially Joins Sohum Shah Cult Horror Universe
Alia Bhatt has officially joined the cast of Tumbbad 2, ending months of speculation about her involvement in the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 cult horror film. Actor-producer Sohum Shah confirmed the news by welcoming Alia to the dark world of Hastar, delighting fans of the franchise.
Earlier rumours suggested Alia’s casting was linked to the performance of Alpha, but the makers have now officially confirmed her role. She will star alongside Sohum Shah and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, making the sequel one of Bollywood’s most anticipated horror films.
Speaking about the project, Alia said that Tumbbad has stayed with her ever since she first watched it and that she is excited to become part of a franchise known for its unique mix of mythology, fantasy and horror. Her addition is expected to expand the mysterious world introduced in the original film.
Directed by Adesh Prasad, Tumbbad 2 is scheduled to release in theatres on December 3, 2027. The sequel will continue exploring the mythology of Hastar while taking the franchise into a bigger and darker cinematic universe.
