Kapil Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Sugandha Mishra, and Remo D’Souza Receive Death Threats; Police Investigate
Popular comedians Kapil Sharma and Sugandha Mishra, actor Rajpal Yadav, and choreographer Remo D’Souza have reportedly received death threats via email. The email, allegedly sent from Pakistan, has prompted swift action by the Mumbai police, with an FIR already registered at the Amboli Police Station.
The email, signed by someone using the name ‘BISHNU,’ warned the recipients to respond within eight hours or face severe consequences both personally and professionally. The message emphasized the seriousness of the threat, stating, “This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you. The incident came to light on December 14, 2024, when Rajpal Yadav received the threatening email. The email also mentioned Kapil Sharma’s team and linked the threats to their association with Salman Khan, whose company sponsors Kapil’s comedy show. Rajpal Yadav’s wife, Radha Yadav, promptly filed a complaint, and the police began their investigation.
Mumbai police confirmed that the email originated from Pakistan and have registered a case under section 351(3) of BNS against an unidentified individual. Authorities are now working to trace the sender and determine the motive behind the threats.
The recipients have been instructed by the police to remain vigilant, while security measures are being considered to ensure their safety. This alarming incident has raised concerns in the entertainment industry about the safety of celebrities and the misuse of digital platforms for issuing threats.
