King Shah Rukh Khan Biggest Action Film Set for Christmas 2026 Release
After creating history with Pathaan and Jawan, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for one of the biggest films of his career, King. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the high-budget action thriller has already generated massive excitement among fans, thanks to its star-studded cast, international-scale action sequences and the first-ever full-fledged collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan.
Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, King is being mounted on a grand scale and is expected to be among the costliest Indian films ever made. The film combines intense action, emotional storytelling and stylish visuals, with the makers aiming to deliver a global cinematic experience.
According to the makers, Shah Rukh Khan plays a mysterious and powerful mentor who is forced into a dangerous mission after crossing paths with Suhana Khan’s character. As they embark on a life-threatening journey, they face deadly enemies, shocking betrayals and explosive confrontations that test their courage and survival. While the makers have kept the complete storyline under wraps, the film is being described as an action thriller packed with emotional depth and high-stakes drama.
The film features an impressive ensemble cast including Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi and Rani Mukerji. Abhishek Bachchan is reportedly playing the primary antagonist, while Deepika Padukone is expected to have a pivotal role in the narrative.
Behind the camera, King is directed by Siddharth Anand from a story by Sujoy Ghosh. The screenplay has been written by Sujoy Ghosh, Siddharth Anand, Suresh Nair and Sagar Pandya, while dialogues are penned by Abbas Tyrewala. The background score is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with songs by Sachin-Jigar, marking their first collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan.
Principal photography began in 2025 and has been filmed across Mumbai, Warsaw and Cape Town. The production includes multiple large-scale action set pieces choreographed by international stunt teams, with the makers promising a visual spectacle designed for the big screen.
The makers have officially announced that King will release in cinemas on 24 December 2026, arriving as a major Christmas release. Along with Hindi, the film is also scheduled to release in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and English, giving it a wide pan-India and international reach.
