Sonakshi Sinha Breaks Silence on Conversion Rumors After Marriage to Zaheer Iqbal
Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has finally addressed the ongoing rumors about her converting to Islam after marrying actor Zaheer Iqbal. The couple tied the knot in June 2024 through a registered marriage under the Special Marriage Act, allowing them to retain their respective religions. Sonakshi’s Response to the Conversion Question
In a recent interview with Hauterrfly, Sonakshi made it clear that religion was never a topic of concern in their relationship. She emphasized that both she and Zaheer respect each other’s faiths but never felt the need to impose them on one another.
“Zaheer never asked me to change my religion, and I never asked him to. We don’t even sit and discuss these things. Instead, we celebrate and appreciate each other’s traditions. He joins me for my Diwali puja, and I sit with him for his niyaz. That’s all that matters,” Sonakshi said.
She further explained that marrying under the Special Marriage Act was the best decision, as it allowed them to honor their love without any religious obligations.
“As a Hindu woman, I don’t need to change my religion, and he can remain a Muslim man. Two people in love can simply share a beautiful bond of marriage,” she added.

Ever since their wedding, Sonakshi has been subjected to online trolling and speculation. However, she subtly responded to critics by commenting on a post about love being a universal language. She wrote:
