Disney Percy Jackson Season 3 Officially Confirms Rick Riordan Book Change With a Character Upgrade
Disney+ is bringing Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 to screens on November 20, 2026. The new season will adapt Rick Riordan’s third book, The Titan’s Curse, while making several changes to expand important characters and storylines.
Nico di Angelo Gets a Bigger Role
One of the biggest changes in Season 3 involves Nico di Angelo. In the original books, Nico gradually becomes an important character in Percy’s story. The Disney+ series, however, is giving him a more prominent role much earlier.
Walker Scobell, who plays Percy Jackson, has discussed Percy and Nico’s relationship in the television adaptation. Their bond is expected to be explored more deeply, with Percy seeing similarities between himself and the younger demigod.
The change gives the series more time to develop Nico’s personality, emotions and connection with Percy before his story becomes increasingly important.
Season 3 Adapts The Titan Curse
The third season is based on The Titan’s Curse, one of the most popular books in the original Percy Jackson series.
The story follows Percy, Annabeth and Grover as they become involved in a dangerous mission involving Nico and Bianca di Angelo. When Annabeth disappears, Percy becomes determined to find her while a much larger threat begins to emerge.
The season will introduce several important mythological characters and expand the world of the series.
Thalia Grace Gets an Upgrade
Thalia Grace will also receive more attention in Season 3. The character, played by Tamara Smart, has been promoted to a series regular.
The television adaptation will have more opportunities to explore Thalia’s history, her relationship with Percy and her connection to Luke Castellan.
Her expanded role represents another example of the series adding material that was not explored in the same depth in the original books.
Hunters of Artemis Join the Story
Season 3 will also introduce the Hunters of Artemis, an important group from The Titan’s Curse.
Artemis will be played by Dafne Keen, while Zoë Nightshade will be portrayed by Saara Chaudry. Their arrival will introduce a new dynamic to Percy’s journey and expand the mythological side of the series.
Annabeth Story Will Be Expanded
Another major adaptation decision involves Annabeth Chase.
In the original book, Annabeth is missing for a significant portion of the story. The television series is expected to use that opportunity to explore parts of her storyline that are not shown directly in the novel.
This allows the show to keep Annabeth involved in the larger narrative while also giving viewers more insight into her character.
A Darker Story Ahead
Season 3 is expected to be darker and more emotionally intense than the previous seasons.
The characters will face greater dangers, while the prophecy surrounding the children of the Big Three becomes increasingly important. Percy’s connection to Poseidon continues to put him at the centre of events that could affect the future of Olympus.
The new season will therefore combine the adventure and humour associated with the franchise with more serious emotional stakes.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on November 20, 2026.
Walker Scobell will return as Percy Jackson, alongside Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood. Charlie Bushnell returns as Luke Castellan, while Tamara Smart returns as Thalia Grace.
Levi Chrisopulos will continue as Nico di Angelo, with Olive Abercrombie portraying Bianca.
