India’s First AI Feature Film ‘Love You’ Made by Two Bangalore Creators on Just ₹10 Lakh Budget
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming industries worldwide—and now, it’s making waves in Indian cinema too. In a groundbreaking achievement, Kannada cinema has introduced India’s first full-length feature film made entirely using AI, titled ‘Love You’.
The film is a brainchild of S. Narasimhamurthy, a filmmaker from Bangalore, who teamed up with a graphic artist to bring his vision to life. Together, with just ₹10 lakh and six months of dedication, the duo created a 95-minute film without using any actors or live-action shoots.
Entirely Created by AI
What makes ‘Love You’ truly unique is that every part of the film—from character animations and dialogues to camera movements and even the music—was generated using AI. The film features 12 songs, all composed by AI, and the visuals and voiceovers were crafted using various AI tools available at the time.
Despite working with limited resources and outdated tools by today’s standards, the creators pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in digital filmmaking. Narasimhamurthy referred to the project as a “digital miracle” and said he hopes to inspire more filmmakers to embrace technology for low-budget storytelling.
Certified and Ready for Theatres
‘Love You’ has been granted a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). While reviewing the film, the censor board acknowledged some of the limitations of AI—like inconsistent facial features across scenes, lack of perfect lip-syncing, and emotional expressions—but still praised the innovative approach.
Narasimhamurthy’s ambition wasn’t just to make an AI film—he wanted it to be the world’s first AI-generated feature film to release in a theatre. He plans to set this record by showcasing it on a single screen.
AI Tools Already Outdated
Interestingly, the tools used to make the film are now considered outdated. Co-creator Nuthan pointed out that the same film would look “a thousand times better” if recreated today with newer AI tools. This highlights just how fast the technology is evolving—and the huge potential it holds for the future of cinema.
With ‘Love You’, these two creators from Bangalore have proven that you don’t need a huge budget or a big production house to tell a compelling story. All you need is imagination, determination, and a bit of help from AI. Also Read:- The Accountant 2 Shadows of Corruption and a Brother’s Reckoning
