Kangana Ranaut’s much-anticipated political drama, Emergency, hit theatres on January 17, 2025. The film has garnered mixed reviews from critics but is seeing steady growth in box office collections. Directed, produced, and acted in by Kangana herself, this marks her return to the big screen after two years, following her last theatrical release, Tejas (2023).

Day 3 Box Office Collection

On its third day, Emergency saw a significant boost in earnings, thanks to a strong Sunday performance. The film opened with ₹2.5 crore on its first day and showed a 44% jump to ₹3.6 crore on Day 2. Sunday collections further increased to ₹4.35 crore, bringing the total box office collection to ₹10.45 crore in just three days.

Audience Response and Occupancy

According to reports by entertainment portal Sacnilk, Emergency had an overall theatrical occupancy of 18.96% on Sunday. Morning shows recorded 8.23% occupancy, while afternoon shows surged to 20.47%. Night shows, however, dipped slightly with 16.57% occupancy. Kangana’s Post-Pandemic Success

This political drama has emerged as Kangana’s best opening film post-pandemic, outperforming her previous releases like Dhaakad, Tejas, and Thalaivi. Alongside Kangana, the film features a stellar cast including Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, and Mahima Chaudhry, adding depth to the intense storyline.
